The Ultimate Gateway Drug
A Gateway Drug is defined as “a habit-forming drug that…may lead to the use of other addictive drugs.” Following that logic and analogizing Passion to a drug of sorts, I posit this:
Passion is the ultimate gateway drug to maximize your potential, cultivate your unique talents, gifts, and skills, become the best version of yourself, realize your dreams, and manifest your best life — all of for which you were put on this planet!
Passion leads to the intoxicating, empowering, positive, and oh-so-deliciously-addictive emotions and states of being like purpose, fulfillment, growth, opportunity, joy, creativity, contribution, love, success, and abundance!
Like a drug, there is an actual physiological effect that happens when you engage your passions and live out of your passion — it actually alters your brain, changes how you feel physically, and it nourishes your heart and your soul! Better than a drug — it is not destructive, but rather constructive.
It is a natural high of the most transcendental and transformative kind. It will permeate every aspect of your life, and people will be drawn to you for it. New opportunities will arise. New perspectives will emerge. Ideation, innovation, and imagination will burst forth!
Endless more energetically positive and like-kind fields and feelings will ensue: courage, confidence, capability, creativity, collaboration, connection, compassion, and contribution- to yourself and to the people around you.
Engage in your passions and live out of your passion in all that you do! Start doing the things that bring you alive, and that bring you joy and fulfillment! The activities, the pursuits, and all the stuff that make you feel like your most authentic and best you; that put you in that flow state where you lose track of time and lose yourself to something bigger than you, that is also a part of you — the deepest and truest part of you.
Bring your passion to everything that you do. The good, the bad and the ugly. The hard stuff, the sucky stuff, the challenges, the obstacles, the mind-numbingly tedious, the mundane stuff. And the ecstatic, elevating, fun and just plain silly stuff. Bring your passion to everyone and everything and every moment.
Engage in your passions. Be passionate. Create your passion. Tap into it, and live out of it! It is the ultimate gateway drug to realize your dreams, become your best self, and live your best life!
