Imagine…
What if… In film school, this was my favorite exercise. We were told to start with those two simple words. (My thesis film ‘What If Statement’ was: What if time had no boundaries when dealing with love, friendship, and loss).
Imagine that… In acting class, this was my favorite technique. We were taught not to act as if, but rather to imagine that we were, and to import ourselves into the world created on the paper of our scripts. (Imagine that I, Rachel, was living in Europe during World War 2. That was a role I played one summer at Stagedoor Manor, a performing arts camp, for which I received the coveted camp “Oscar” Award).
Imagination is at the heart of Dreams, Vision, Creativity, Innovation, Truth, Limitlessness, Possibility, Inspiration, Progress, Growth, Passion, and Achievement!
Imagination is your super-power! For it is the divine spark within all of us. It is limitless and borderless, the key to an abundant mindset, the wind beneath your wings, and the genesis of everything you are capable of and all that you can become. Imagination is the creator of your dreams and the source of your reality.
(Side note: speaking of super powers and divine sparks within us, I saw Wonder Woman this past weekend, and it is awesome!!!)
So, what kills imagination, and therefore your dreams? Fear and Doubt. In the wise and magical words of J.M. Barrie in Peter Pan, “The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever to be able to do it.” And sometimes, being called foolish or crazy is the price you pay for having an imagination. BUT, remember — all that is now proved was once only imagined… and all that is now possible was once thought impossible. So, squash the fears, doubts, and naysayers, believe in the power of your imagination and your dreams, and go dive into them!
Creativity is such a huge part of our imagination, our dreams, and our accomplishments. We are all the artists of our lives- creating and expressing what matters to us most, and manifesting into reality what we imagine. As a friend of mine recently told me (Domingo Zapata, a great artist himself) — it is your obligation to create and express what speaks to your heart! I love that!!

So, Ask yourself, “What if….” Say to yourself, “Imagine That….” and Go Seize Your Passion!
