Good and Bad

Here’s what I know to be true.

Life is full of paradoxical dualities.

Good and bad.
Joy and suffering.
Easy and hard.
Darkness and light.
Breakdowns and breakthroughs.
Stagnation and growth.
Hope and despair.
Short-term and long-term.

The answer to becoming your most resilient and best self, and living your absolute best life — i.e., overcoming hard times, creating meaning, realizing your dreams, and achieving true fulfillment and success on your terms — is remembering that every situation, and every circumstance, and all of life, is always full of these paradoxical dualities.

It’s never just one or the other. It’s always both! There’s a flip side to every coin. One defines the other, they coexist and give the other meaning. Always.

That’s why the greatest breakthroughs are often born of the greatest breakdowns. The greatest light is often born of the greatest darkness. The greatest hope is often born of the greatest despair. And so on.

Seeing everything through this framework, accepting it, and embracing it is what makes the real difference in creating true and lasting meaning, purpose, and fulfillment in life.

Seeing, acknowledging, accepting, and embracing both the good and the bad. Not denying one (the bad) and forcing the other (the good). But also not wallowing in one (the bad), and completely shutting out the other (the good).

The answer is always — both.

There will be days when it’s 99% bad, and only 1% good, or vice versa. There will be days when it’s 50% / 50%, and days when it’s 60% / 40%.

As long as you still have in you even just a little bit of belief in light, love, hope, yourself, the goodness in the world, the fact that everything is happening for you and not to you, that everything happens for a reason, as and when it should — that’s what keeps you going, and gets you to tomorrow.

Tomorrow is another day, and tomorrow that light, love, and hope may go up to 51% or higher.

Remember — the paradoxical duality of everything.

Remember — everything is temporary, the good and the bad.

Remember — everything is happening for you, not to you.

Remember — the big picture, long term, not the short term moment in time right now.

Remember — patience.

Almost everything that is truly meaningful, beautiful, rich, deep, fulfilling, successful, and lasting — takes time, with plenty of ups and downs within it.

As always, and now more than ever:

Do more of what you LOVE!
Be more of who you LOVE!
Seize Your Passion!

Stay safe, healthy, and positive!!!
